How to prepare your home before the team arrives

You don't need to clean before the cleaning team arrives, that would be absurd. But a few minutes of prep changes a lot of what the team can get done in the time available.

Tidying isn't cleaning, and it matters

You don't need to clean before the team arrives. But tidying helps a lot: the more surfaces are clear, the more of the booked time goes to cleaning instead of moving things.

A heavily furnished or cluttered home takes more handling, and it shows in the time needed.

Surfaces to clear

A few minutes is enough to clear the essentials:

  • Kitchen and bathroom counters
  • The tops of furniture that needs dusting
  • The floor, so the vacuum can reach everywhere
  • The inside of cabinets, if you want them cleaned

What to tell us ahead of time

Tell us your priority rooms and anything you don't want touched. Mention fragile or precious items too.

The team arrives with everything needed. If you'd rather we use your own products, let us know before the visit.

Pets and allergies

Mention any pets in the home, so the team knows what to expect when they walk in. If someone in the home has allergies or sensitivities to certain products, tell us before the visit so we can account for it.

Access, keys and parking

You don't need to be home during the visit. Many clients give us access and head off to work. We lock up when we leave.

Have the code, the key or the person who opens ready, and say where the team can park. Easy access means more time spent cleaning.
