What regular maintenance covers
Regular maintenance keeps your home at the same level, visit after visit. It covers what you use every day:
- The kitchen, with counters, sink and the outside of appliances
- Bathrooms, from the toilet to the shower, tub, sink and mirrors
- Dusting furniture, surfaces and window sills
- Vacuuming and washing floors in every room
- Garbage emptied and bags replaced
What a deep cleaning covers
A deep cleaning goes after what regular maintenance doesn't touch on every visit:
- Behind and under the fridge and stove
- Inside the oven and microwave
- Baseboards, door frames and switches
- A full descaling of showers, tubs and fixtures
- Vent covers and accessible light fixtures
The real difference is time spent per surface
The difference is mostly the time spent on each surface. Maintenance keeps things up. A deep cleaning resets them.
That's why a deep cleaning needs a longer window, often a half day or a full day depending on the size of the place.
How to know which one you need
Ask yourself one question: how long since the last big clean?
If your home is already well kept, regular maintenance is enough. If it's been a while, or you're having guests, just bought the place, or have pets or allergies, a deep cleaning is the right starting point.
The combination that suits most homes
A deep cleaning to start from a clean base, then regular maintenance to keep it that way. For most homes, a big clean once or twice a year is enough, more often with pets, allergies or heavy foot traffic.
